From a 3-tonne electric machine working inside a warehouse to a 25-tonne diesel handling containers in an open yard — with current third-party inspection certification, and an RTA-licensed operator if you need one. Across all seven emirates, usually on site within hours.
Two numbers decide it: the heaviest load you’ll lift, and how high you need to lift it. A third catches people out — the load centre.
Rated capacity assumes the weight sits within a standard distance from the fork face (commonly 600 mm). Push the load further out and effective capacity drops sharply, because you’re levering the rear wheels off the ground. A machine rated 3 tonnes will not lift 3 tonnes of long, awkward material at arm’s length. Always check the data plate.
3–5 tonnes — pallets, general warehouse and yard handling, light site material. The most commonly rented class.
5–10 tonnes — heavier palletised goods, steel, blocks and bagged material on construction sites.
10–25 tonnes — containers, plant, heavy industrial handling. These need real space and firm ground.

This is the decision that most affects safety, and it comes down to where the machine works.
Electric is the default indoors. No exhaust fumes, quieter, and the obvious choice for warehouses and enclosed spaces. The trade-off is charging time and a battery that needs a ventilated charging area — hydrogen gas released during charging is explosive in confined spaces.
Diesel is the workhorse outdoors: more power, longer shifts, better on rough or sloping yard surfaces, refuelled in minutes. What it cannot do is work in an enclosed space without proper ventilation — exhaust fumes in a closed warehouse are genuinely dangerous.
LPG sits between the two and suits mixed indoor/outdoor work with adequate ventilation.

In Dubai, forklift operators are licensed by the RTA. An operator must be over 20, pass an eye test, complete training with a certified instructor, and pass both a knowledge and a practical test.
Licences come in two classes, and the difference matters when you assign operators:

Putting a light-licence holder on a 10-tonne machine “just for one lift” is unlicensed operation, and the liability sits with the company that did it. If nobody on your team holds the right class, ask us to supply a licensed operator — it is almost always cheaper than a delay.
